What is all the Fuss about a Wall Hung Toilet?

If you are in the process of remodeling your bathroom or have purchased a house whose bathroom is a bit smaller and more cramped than you would like it there is a way to add more space and make the whole room look cleaner. While the size of the average bathroom being built today is much larger, many people live in house built over 30 years ago when the bathroom was not much more than a closet. To deal with this lack of space consider using a wall hung toilet.

When you are remodeling and want to take advantage of every usable inch of space in your bathroom for that Jacuzzi tub or standing shower unit, you know that something is going to have to be done to provide you with extra space you need without having to tear out a wall and make the room bigger. You can of course replace the old pedestal type sink with a wall mounted one, but at the same time you can also install a wall hung toilet that will free up a significant amount of space.

Beyond making more space in your bathroom there are aesthetics to consider, the old tank on the outside toilet simply does not look good in a fully modern bathroom to some people. Also being able to conceal the cistern in the wall out of sight makes for a much cleaner looking installation than the traditional toilet. This type of installation makes the dreaded chore of cleaning the floor around the toilet a lot easier.

One of the biggest problems with a standard floor mounted toilet is that they are all the same height. No provisions are made for those who are very tall or for those who are not so tall. With a wall hung toilet you get to decide how far from the floor you get to set the seat height. This can come in really handy if you have small children as you can set the toilet lower to the floor making it easier for them to use.

This new minimalistic look that has been cropping up in today’s ultra modern homes may have its roots in aesthetics, but recently the wall hung toilet has taken off in popularity more for its practical applications. Everything but the bowl is hidden within the wall including the steel support frame, making your bathroom look and feel much bigger and easier to take care of.
